Mark Laurence Ong is an engineer by profession. He finished a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering at Mapua Institute of Technology as Cum Laude. He is a Registered Electrical Engineer (REE) and a Registered Master Electrician (RME) after passing two Licensure Exams.

He is currently running a system integration/solution providing company which specializes in Home, office, and industrial automations, Paging and sound systems, Security and access control systems, Car park and traffic management systems, and other various custom engineered solutions. Majority of his work is in front of a computer - programming microprocessor systems that controls the hardware of a particular system.

If your nose just bled on that job description, you would certainly understand why this guy needs diversion from his everyday work flow - to stretch those muscles baby fats fats, unwind those nerves, recharge those brain juices, and let his creative and artistic side kick in. That is where photography comes in.

Photography is the world he escapes to when he is brain dead from all the programming and debugging that he usually does. He got hooked into photography since college and began honing his skills from then on. It started as a hobby, which later turns into a second profession. To date, he has done several projects including fashion shoots, glamour editorials, product catalogs and advertising.

With his scientific background, he is very technical when it comes to his pictures - composition, exposure and lighting. He knows the rules of photography by heart, and he knows when to break it. He is never contented with his pictures. He is always striving to do better, eager to experiment and learn new things.
